Aircraft carried on the deck of a 98 ft landing craft from Campbell River. Floatplanes go aboard on a crane hook and come off the same way.
98 ft landing craft·14 ft bow ramp·Since 1986
Above: a floatplane on the crane hook in a harbour. Further down, a different floatplane, start to finish.
The answer
What we've carried.
Aircraft. Helicopters.
We carry all freight.
This page shows two floatplane jobs. At the top, a floatplane hangs on the crane hook beside a dock in a harbour. Below, a different floatplane from start to finish: lifted aboard, carried on deck and lifted off again. Tell us what the aircraft is, where it sits now and where it needs to go. Bill will tell you whether it goes.
- Floatplanes
- Helicopters
- Machines, fuel, lumber, trucks on the same deck
We load anywhere on the coast.
Not only at Campbell River. We load at Vancouver, at Victoria, or wherever the aircraft is sitting now. Her deck is 64 ft by 17 ft and she carries up to 100 tons, from Seattle up through BC to Alaska.
How it works
One floatplane, start to finish.
Five pieces of one video of one trip, in order and at natural speed. The bar shows where each piece sits in the original.
Questions
What aircraft operators ask.
Can you move a floatplane up the coast?
Yes. We have carried aircraft on deck. The footage on this page shows a floatplane lifted aboard by crane, carried on deck and lifted off again. Tell us about the aircraft and Bill will tell you.
Can you carry a helicopter?
Yes. Helicopters are part of what we've carried. Tell us about the aircraft and Bill will tell you.
How do you get the plane on board?
In the footage on this page, a crane lifts the floatplane from beside a dock and sets it down on the deck, then lifts it off again at the other end. She has two long-reach hydraulic cranes. For your aircraft, tell us about the aircraft and Bill will tell you.
Do you load anywhere other than Campbell River?
Yes. We load anywhere on the coast. We load at Vancouver, at Victoria, or wherever the aircraft is sitting now. Home port is Campbell River, BC, and we run from Seattle up through BC to Alaska.
How big an aircraft can you carry?
The Inlet Raider is a 98 ft landing craft. Her deck is 64 ft by 17 ft and she carries up to 100 tons, and she has two long-reach hydraulic cranes for what cannot drive aboard over the 14 ft bow ramp. She makes 12 to 14 knots, and we run 24-hour service. Tell us about the aircraft and Bill will tell you.
How do I get a price to move an aircraft?
Tell us about the aircraft, or call Bill at 604-740-1599. There are no rates on this site because every job depends on the load and the landing.
