Machines, fuel, lumber and trucks, carried by landing craft from Campbell River and landed where your camp has no dock.

98 ft landing craft·14 ft bow ramp·Since 1986

The answer

What we move for camps.

We carry all freight. Machines, fuel, lumber, trucks.

For a logging camp that means the iron and the supplies the camp runs on: machines and excavators, fuel, lumber, trucks and pipe.

The Inlet Raider is a 98 ft landing craft with a 14 ft bow ramp. She lands on a beach or a ramp, so machines can drive on and off where there is no dock.

  • Fuel
  • Lumber
  • Trucks
  • Pipe

We load anywhere on the coast.

Not only at Campbell River. We load at Vancouver, at Victoria, or wherever the machine is sitting now, and trucking it to the boat is often cheaper than moving it by water the whole way. We run from Seattle up through BC to Alaska.

How it works

How a camp run works.

One run, written up the way it happens. Each line gets stamped when it's done, from your call to the load coming off at camp.

  2. 02Plan

We plan the tide and the landing.

A beach landing depends on the tide and the shore. We work out when and where she can come in.

Questions

What camp managers ask.

Can you deliver freight to a logging camp with no dock?

Yes. The Inlet Raider is a 98 ft landing craft. She puts her 14 ft bow ramp down on a beach or a ramp and the load comes off there, so the camp does not need a dock.

What can you carry for a logging camp?

We carry all freight. Machines, fuel, lumber, trucks. Excavators and pipe too. If your load is something else, call Bill at 604-740-1599 and describe it.

Can you move a yarder or an excavator?

The footage on this page shows a grapple yarder coming aboard over the Inlet Raider's bow ramp. Her deck is 64 ft by 17 ft and she carries up to 100 tons. Whether your machine fits depends on what it is, so tell us the make, model and weight when you call.

Do you load anywhere other than Campbell River?

Yes. We load anywhere on the coast. We load at Vancouver, at Victoria, or wherever the freight is sitting now, and trucking a load to the boat is often cheaper than moving it by water the whole way. Home port is Campbell River, BC, and we run from Seattle up through BC to Alaska.

How much can she carry?

Her deck is 64 ft by 17 ft and she carries up to 100 tons. Machines drive aboard over the 14 ft bow ramp, and two long-reach hydraulic cranes lift what cannot drive on. She makes 12 to 14 knots, and we run 24-hour service.

How do I get a price for a camp run?

Tell us about the load, or call Bill at 604-740-1599. There are no rates on this site because every run depends on the load and the landing.
