Coastal Seatrucking · Where we land
Beach landings and river runs
Freight to places with no dock. The Inlet Raider comes in bow-first, puts her ramp down on the beach, and your load drives off. Here's how that works.
How a beach landing works
No dock. Four steps.
A landing craft is built to do what most boats can't: come right up to the shore and unload there. This is what happens when she delivers to a beach.
-
Step 01
Approach on the tide.
She comes in slow and bow-first toward the beach. Beach landings run on the tide, so the landing is timed to it.
-
Step 02
Bow onto the beach.
The flat bow comes right up to the shore. There's no wharf and no float. Just the beach.
-
Step 03
Ramp down.
The 14-foot bow ramp folds down onto the shore. That ramp is the road on and off the boat.
-
Step 04
Drive off, or load on.
Trucks and machines drive straight down the ramp onto the beach under their own power. Loads going out come aboard the same way.
River runs
Up rivers almost nothing else can reach.
Some loads aren't going to the open coast. They're going up a river. The boat takes them up the river with the freight on deck.
Tell us which river. Bill will tell you.
For the customer
Freight to places with no dock.
If the place you need your load isn't on a road and doesn't have a dock, you don't have to build one. A logging camp, a construction site, a lodge or a coastal community with a stretch of beach can take a delivery straight onto the shore.
- No dock or wharf needed at your end.
- The bow ramp comes down onto the beach.
- Trucks and machines drive off under their own power.
- Tell us where it's going and Bill will tell you if she can land there.
Watch it happen
A landing, start to finish.
Two short videos from this coast: a truck-sized question answered at a beach, and a run up a river to a place with no dock.
Questions about landings.
How do you deliver without a dock?
The Inlet Raider is a landing craft. She comes in bow-first to the beach, puts her 14-foot bow ramp down onto it, and trucks and machines drive straight off. No dock or wharf is needed at your end.
Can you land on any beach?
Not every beach suits a landing. Tell us where the load is going and Bill will tell you.
Do you go up rivers?
Yes. Up rivers almost nothing else can reach. Tell us which river and Bill will tell you.
Does a beach landing depend on the tide?
Yes. Beach landings run on the tide, so the landing is timed to it. Bill works that out for your job.
What can drive off the ramp?
Trucks and machines drive off over the 14-foot bow ramp. Tell us about the load and Bill will tell you if it fits. See the boat.
Got a beach in mind?
Tell us the beach, the river or the camp. Bill will tell you if she can land there.
