What this website collects, where it goes, and who to ask about it.

Who we are
This website belongs to Coastal Seatrucking Ltd., a landing craft freight business in Campbell River, British Columbia. Bill, the owner, is the person responsible for how personal information is handled here.
The site is built and managed for us by the Kaplex team.
The quote form
If you fill in the form on the contact page, we collect what you type into it: what the load is, its size or weight, where it is coming from and going to, when, what the landing is like at the far end, your name, your phone number or email address, and any notes.
With it, the website records the time it arrived, your internet (IP) address, the kind of browser you used and the page you sent it from. We use those to stop spam and repeated automated sends.
Where it goes
- By email to Bill, so he can call or write back. The email is delivered by Resend, an email sending service.
- As a notification to the Kaplex team, who manage this website, so we know a request came in and can make sure it reaches Bill.
- Into a short-term technical log at our website host, Vercel, as a backup in case an email does not go through.
We use what you send only to answer your request. We don't sell it, rent it or put you on a mailing list. Requests that reach Bill stay in his email like any other customer message.
If you would rather not use the form, call Bill instead.
Website analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how the site is used. It does not use cookies and does not tell us who you are. We see totals: which pages were visited, which site sent visitors here, the country, and the kind of device and browser. We also count how many times the phone number was tapped and how many times the form was sent.
This site does not set any cookies of its own.
Google Ads measurement
We may advertise on Google. While our ads are running, this site uses the Google tag to measure whether a visit came from one of our ads, and whether it led to a call or a quote request.
- Conversion tracking. Google records when someone who clicked one of our ads taps the phone number or sends the form. Google may use cookies to do this.
- Call tracking. If you came from one of our ads, the phone number on the site may show as a Google forwarding number. It rings Bill's phone just the same. Google tells us that a call happened, when, how long it lasted and the caller's area code.
- Enhanced conversions. When you send the form, your email address and phone number may be turned into a scrambled code (a one-way hash) in your browser and sent to Google, so Google can match the request to an ad click without receiving them in readable form.
We use this only to see which ads bring in real work. You can turn off personalized ads and see your Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where it is stored
Our website host (Vercel), the email service (Resend) and Google are based in the United States, so what you send may be stored or processed outside Canada, where the laws of that country apply.
Your rights, and who to call
We handle personal information under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to us using it, though we may then be unable to answer your request.
For any of that, or any question about privacy, call Bill:
If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.
Changes
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
